Funding for Undergraduate Student Conference Travel and Research

by Jacob Smit on 2024-01-29T15:17:00-08:00 in Education, Grants and Professional Development, Research Tools | 0 Comments

Undergraduate students from all disciplines can make use of undergraduate student research funding opportunities through the Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons. These awards support student-driven, independent, original research projects under the guidance of a Seattle University faculty member. There are awards to conduct research, as well as conference travel awards to give a presentation.

Conference travel awards

  • Conference travel awards support Seattle University undergraduate students who have been accepted to present at a professional or scholarly meeting or event (e.g., academic conference, film festival, dance convention, etc.).

  • Students can receive up to $1,500 for conference travel expenses, including registration, airfare, hotel, ground transportation (ride services or mileage), and meals.

Dean’s research awards

  • The Dean's Research Awards are awarded for both large-scale and small-scale research projects. Both research awards are to support student-driven, independent, original research projects under the guidance of a Seattle University faculty member.

  • Large-scale research awards support research over the summer with a $6,000 stipend. The small-scale research grant stipend is $1,500.
