Books on display at Lemieux Library

Whether you’re curious about popular reading trends at the library or truly a fan of statistics, this post is for you!

What have SU students, staff, and faculty been reading in 2025?

Based on checkouts from the library’s 3rd floor book display, American Literature was the most popular among readers, making up 47% of checkouts. Following in second place at 16% were books on History of the Americas.

Who’s reading?

Undergraduate students made up 38% of total books checked out from our displays!

What did I miss?

If you weren’t able to check out our displays or didn’t know they were there, don’t worry! We rotate the display selections every academic term and those books remain in their permanent home on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th floor. If you need help finding a book on any floor of the library, search the library’s catalog or ask for assistance at the 3rd floor Circulation Desk.

Here are a few popular display selections you can check out anytime:

Tip: Follow the link on the book title and click “Request from SU” to request the book. Library staff will locate the book for you and place it on our hold shelf for quick and easy pickup during open hours

What’s coming up?

Spring quarter book display selections are still up and are available for checkout. You’ll find books covering grief, artificial intelligence, and new and notable releases. Summer book display selections will be revealed soon! Come visit us on the 3rd floor of the library.
