Helpful Tips for Searching the Library's Collection!

by Lydia Bello on 2025-10-16T10:10:00-07:00 | 0 Comments

The Library has made a helpful update to our main search on our Library homepage, which searches all our books, ebooks, and now, almost all the journal articles in our subscriptions!

When you use the main library search box, you can now discover a more complete selection of all library resources (by default: books, ebooks, boook chapters, journals, journal articles) through a one-stop search. It now searches the Library's books, ebooks, and articles by default. If you are searching for books and ebooks only, you will need to actively filter for those using the options on the right-hand side of your search results after you run your search.

If you need to search for books available through Summit, you can change the drop down menu to SU Libraries + Summit + Articles.

For in depth article searching, check out our A-Z list of databases to find the appropriate discipline database that works for you!

If you have questions about these changes, or how to find sources in the Library's collections in general, you can ask a librarian by dropping by the 3rd floor Research and Scholarly Services desk or emailing askalibrarian@seattleu.edu.
