"Binti" – it’s so good!

Hello good readers and patrons of Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons!

We are very excited to have “Binti” by Nnedi Okorafor chosen as the 2024-25 Seattle University Common Text. “Binti” joins in the Seattle University tradition of choosing other classics of speculative fiction by women authors for the Common Text program. For example, “The Lathe of Heaven” by Ursula LeGuin (2016) and “Kindred” by Octavia Butler (2015).

 

Stop by the library to see our themed display supporting this important afrofuturist, horror, science fiction, young adult title. We’ve chosen a selection of fiction and nonfiction titles of interest inspired by the themes of the book such as community, belonging, education and conflict between cultures and generations.
