Funding for Undergraduate Student Conference Travel and Research

Undergraduate students from all disciplines from both SU campuses can make use of undergraduate student research funding opportunities through the Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons. These awards support student-driven, independent, original research projects under the guidance of a Seattle University faculty member. There are awards to conduct research, as well as conference travel awards to give a presentation.

Conference Travel Award

• These awards support Seattle University undergraduate students who have been accepted to present at a professional or scholarly meeting or event (academic conference, film festival, dance convention, etc.)
• Students may receive up to $1000 for travel expenses including registration fees, airfare, hotel, ground transportation and meals.

Dean's Research Awards

• These awards are for both large-scale (summer) or small-scale research projects. Both research awards are to support student-driven, independent, original research projects under the guidance of a Seattle University faculty member.
• Students may receive up to $1500 for small-scale awards.

Application deadline is October 31, 2025.
