Returning Items

Do I need to do anything before returning technology?

For iPads, patrons must remove any personal Apple ID account and disable any passcodes. For other technology, Library staff can remove personal accounts and data once they're turned in.

iPads: Settings>Apple ID> Sign Out. Log out of your Apple ID and Settings>Touch ID & Passcode>Turn Passcode Off remove any passcodes before returning the kit to the Circulation Desk.

Chromebooks: Log out by clicking the time at the bottom right, then clicking Sign Out. At the sign in screen, you can click the arrow next to the profile name and click Remove this user.

Can I return technology items via book drops?

Please do not return technology loans via book drops. We ask that you only return these items at the Lemieux Library Circulation Desk. If it's not possible, please use the Contact the Library Form or call the Access Services Circulation Desk at  206-296-6233.

Seattle, WA 98122

Please secure your package to ensure that all items mailed are received by the Library.

Can you retrieve files for me?

Once staff inspects the condition of returned equipment, any personal data left on devices will be erased.

Troubleshooting

Hotspot Is Getting No Service / Weak Signals

Wireless signal may be affected by network coverage, network congestion, weather and nature, building structures, etc. You may need to move towards a window and watch whether the signal changes or not.

There's A Problem with My Device

If you're having issues with your device, consult the Library first. If you give your loan to ITS, it will not be reflected in your library account. You will need to return any damaged items to the library's Circulation Desk before you can receive another.

My Items Were Stolen

Please use the Contact the Library Form or call the Access Services Circulation Desk at  206-296-6233 about stolen items.
