Reserve materials

Course materials in the library

The library has a vast array of resources related to courses available to you as a student:

  • Textbooks and course materials that are owned by the Lemieux Library are searchable the same way as any materials held in the collection. Use either the ISBN, Title, or author in the Library Catalog page.
  • Course Reserve materials. These are materials that a specific Professor or instructor has provided or requested that the library obtain that are directly related to a specific course or class, either as primary or secondary textbook or supplementary materials to support your assignments. These materials can either be electronic or physical items. For most courses, your instructor will provide links with instructions to how to obtain these items either within your Canvas course site or in your syllabus.
    • For physical reserve items such as books, media, or kits: search using the "Course Reserve" subsection of the Library Catalog (Primo) Course. Reserve materials are crossed reference with the specifics of the Course they are for. Therefore, you can enter the course title, acronym, or instructor in your search along with the title and author for availability.  Physical materials are available for check out at the Circulation desk on the 3rd floor of the library.
    • For electronic materials please refer to your class Canvas page or syllabus. Your professor might also provide a stable URL via email or other means. These items are also searchable in the library catalogue if you have the citation information. For instruction on how to search for electronic items please see the Research Help tutorials and resource help page.
  • The Academic Year 23/24 Textbook Initiative Collection. The library in conjunction with the Campus Book Store and faculty recognize the finical burden students assume within the structures of higher education, and have established a limited collection of high cost textbooks in both electronic and physical formats. A complete list of the materials that have already been purchased for use can be found here. For additional information and how to get a required textbook purchased for these collections please see Textbook Options Guide
