Good Readers and patrons of Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons!

Lemieux Library is pleased to display some of our newly acquired non-fiction titles for your enjoyment.

All of these books are published in 2024 and include authors who have won major book awards in the past along with notable titles that are expected to win awards or be runners up in the future.

Here are just a couple:

"How to Live Free in a Dangerous World" by Shayla Lawson

"In their new book, Shayla Lawson reveals how traveling can itself be a political act, when it can be a dangerous world to be Black, femme, nonbinary, and disabled. With their signature prose, at turns bold, muscular, and luminous, Shayla Lawson travels the world to explore deeper meanings held within love, time, and the self" -- from cover -- National Book Critics Circle Award finalist

"The Great Wave: The era of Radical Disruption and the Rise of the Outsider" by Michiko Kakutani

"In this dazzling and brilliant book, Michiko Kakutani provides a sweeping look at the historical, social, and technological forces that have crested to create the destructive wave of volatility that is disrupting our times. Drawing lessons from the Middle Ages to the Gilded Age, she explains the cascading chaos of our era and points to ways that we can regain some stability." Walter Isaacson blurb from cover

Check these out and many more on our large wall display by the 3rd floor circulation desk.

Happy Reading!
