The resources listed below are suitable for download and use on your own personal computers. Lemieux Library has a number of computers in the Garden Reading room on the 1st floor (by the Media Production Center) that have the full Adobe Suite pre-loaded on them as part of their software suite. Other computers in the library have Adobe Acrobat only. - CanvaBrowser-based online graphic design program which includes an excellent free account, plus paid Pro, and Enterprise pricing plans.
- DaFontA repository of fonts which you can browse by theme (e.g. Basic, Script, Holiday) and download. Many fonts are in the Public Domain, or free for personal use.
- The Noun ProjectA repository of icons which free to download and use under a Creative Commons license or Public Domain. Icon creators receive royalties from The Noun Project every time their work is downloaded. (The Billodue Makerspace uses this resource a lot!)
- GIMPGIMP - the GNU Image Manipulation Program - is a photo manipulation and illustration program which is free to download and use under a Copyleft license.
- KritkaKrita is a professional FREE and open source painting program. It is made by artists that want to see affordable art tools for everyone. Great for concept art, texture and matte painters, illustrations and comics.
Works on Mac, PC, and Linux. - InkscapeA free vector-based graphic design tool that's open source, meaning it's updated frequently. It packs a host of features for both beginners and experienced creators.
