Congratulations to Lilka Clocksin! She is the recipient of a $1000 Conference Travel Award from Lemieux Library. This award supports Seattle University undergraduate students who have been accepted to present at professional meetings.
Lilka presented her poster, "Invertebrate Biodiversity in Kelp Forests Revealed by Autonomous Reef Monitoring Structures", at the 2025 106th Annual Western Society of Naturalists in San Diego, CA last month. Her research compared the variety of invertebrate species in two different types of kelp forests in Puget Sound. Lilka's research was conducted under Dr. Kristin Hultgren, her faculty research mentor.
You can read more about Lilka's poster presentation in her upcoming blog post. She will also be presenting her poster at the Student Research & Creativity Conference on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Again, congratulations Lilka!
